Live at the Hard Rock |
As the result of positive reviews our music received on Garageband.com we have been invited to perform at the Hard Rock Cafe in Philadelphia on Thursday, December 6 at 10:30 PM. We'll be participating in a band competition called "The Twelve Bands of Christmas." On three consecutive Thursdays starting November 29 four bands will compete each night, being voted on by the audience. The winners of each Thursday will then compete on December 20. The winner of that evening will have one of their songs from Garageband added to Hard Rock Cafe's web site for a final online music contest among the winners from a total of twelve Hard Rock Cafes from around the USA. The winner of the final competition will have a shot at a recording contract with Garageband Records, and go on a national tour of Hard Rock Cafes. The competition is sponsored by Sam Adams Beer. Regardless what happens in the competition we are very excited to be performing at such a renowned venue and hope that a ton of our fans come out to see this exciting show. Shame has been formally asked to be included in a Green Room compilation CD, which will be sponsored by The Harrisburg Council for the Arts. The purpose of this CD is to raise awareness about domestic violence and advocate the empowerment of women. The song "Before We Say Goodnight" a new single we just recorded, will be included on this project. Approximately 20,000 records will be manufactured and we feel very fortunate to lend our support to promote such a worthy and relevant cause. Past Green Room compilations have included such renowned artists as The Badlees, Robert Reilly, Jeffrey Gaines, and Jason Timoll. Thank you to The Green Room and Bob Welsh for your consideration! |

Shame Returns From England! |
On November 17, 1997 Shame returned from their 12 day tour of England. They performed at five locations in four different towns, and had a great time. The British audiences were very enthusiastic, both young and older age groups alike. Every CD and t-shirt was sold. The best time was had at St. Ann's all girls school in the town of Trout Beck where the band played for 200 screaming females who swarmed the stage after the show. The British band Silver also showed the crowds a good time and made Shame very welcome in their home in Coniston. Overall the trip was a great success and will be long remembered. |
